Sabotaged is romantic suspense at its best and a wonderful conclusion to the Alaskan Courage novels. Series readers will hate to say goodbye to the McKenna family, but enjoy seeing them all together in this fifth book. Please see my review of Sabotaged by clicking on the title. Now for some "extras" I hope you will find interesting, plus a giveaway of this exciting book!
Meet lead characters, Reef and Kirra . . .
The setting of Sabotaged encompasses the rugged beauty of Alaska and centers around the fascinating Iditarod Trail Race. Dani put together a Pinterest board that adds to the richness of this story and I wanted to share a few of her images here (click on pictures for larger view).
Iditarod Trail Race
The adorable sled dogs
Ice cave, Iditarod Air Force, check point, snowmobile
Reef & Kirra
And this is one of my favorites. Experience all the glory and adventure of the race (and none of the homicidal chase scenes) in this incredible video . . .
And finally, here's what we all have to look forward to from Dani . . .

I love this series. I've read the first two books. I don't really have a favorite character, but love the McKenna family. I've visited Alaska a few times, but am always ready to go again. Great place to visit!

I shared on my Pinterest Book Giveaway board :)
You've visited Alaska "a few times"?!! Really? Okay, I'm just going to say it . . . If God ever makes envy acceptable, I will greatly envy you, Kay! Lol
DeleteSeriously, it's wonderful that you were able to visit there. I think God really outdid Himself when He created Alaska - and I've always enjoyed scenic landscapes rather than big cities. House Hunters on HGTV even has a series filmed in Alaska, which I never miss.
Thanks so much for sharing on Pinterest, Kay. Wish we could get together over a cup of coffee sometime!
Carole, I should mention that my brother lives in Alaska. My husband and I both loved going up there. I don't go as often now, because I don't travel as much by myself. I would love to spend my summers up there, but the winters are way too long.
DeleteIt would be fun to sit down and have a chat over coffee/tea.
Hi Carole,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for doing such a fun Givaway!!! I am going to answer all of your questions that you have asked.
1. I would love to be in a snow cave with Reef McKenna just because he is so handsome and I would feel safe with him. Lol.
2. Yes! I Actually have all or Dani Pettrey's books expected #5 and Yes I have read all of the series besides #5 :) lol
3. I've never have been to Alaska before, I would love to one day take a trip up there and see just how beautiful Alaska is. :).
4. And my favorite Christian fiction author would have too be Dani Pettrey.
Again Thank you for doing the free giveaway.
I hope that I win this book.

I love your answers, Danie! Actually, I wouldn't mind being in a snow cave with any of the series heroes . . .
DeleteI started this series with the 4th book and was instantly hooked on the McKenna family. It's funny that, while I love a good murder mystery, I'm not crazy about suspense - yet I'm a fan of Dani's writing. I think it's because she includes a lot of investigation and detective work in the stories that I've read.
I've also got to say that you have the most unique e-mail address I've ever seen! Cute and very creative. It's always good to see you, Danie.
Carole,
DeleteI am so glad that u liked my email address. Thank you for letting participate in your fun giveaway.
I have read all the Alaskan Courage books leading up to this one. They're all great, but I especially enjoyed reading Jake & Kayden's story.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!! :)
crazybooklover7 [at] yahoo [dot] com
Aerykah, I started with Jake & Kayden's story, so they're kind of special to me. But I love the whole family and will eventually go back and read the earlier books. Thanks for visiting, Aerykah.
DeleteI'll start by saying that there are many things I like about this series, but one of my favorites would have to be the Alaskan setting. I'll never get to visit Alaska in this life, but I've always been drawn to its rugged and majestic beauty. It was a special treat to enjoy the McKenna family in this outdoor setting.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't read a lot of suspense, I like the way Dani writes and am definitely a fan. I will miss the McKennas, but look forward to meeting a new family in her next series.
I really enjoyed this.I spent a lot of time in the snow in Wyoming but don 't know how these folks survive. I have not read any of Dani's books yet. I love Romantic Suspense and I have family living in Alaska for many years now and would live nowhere else. And, I wouldn't want to ever be trapped in an ice cave no matter the good company. :) Please put my name in for a chance to win this book.
ReplyDeleteThanks . Maxie > mac262(at)me(dot)com <
Maxie, it's a close call with someone like Reef, but I'm going to agree with you about not wanting to be trapped in an ice cave! Lol
DeleteIf you love romantic suspense, I'm pretty sure you would enjoy Dani's books. Hope you get to read this series soon. I enjoyed your comments, Maxie.
Carole, I won the GRAND PRIZE in Dani and her Publishing House contest. Now if I just had lots of money for, it's only for the Hotels. Could go to somewhere like Hawaii or such. I only have one daughter who isn't working so we will just go to some of the close places here in Texas and then can drive there and back. Still be fun. Was a $250.00 card. I couldn't believe it. Maxie . mac262(at)me(dot0com ,
DeleteI love Terri Blackstock. I haven't read Dani's books yet either. This sounds really interesting. My uncle lives in Alaska. I have never been though.
ReplyDeleteMary, visiting your uncle is the perfect excuse to visit Alaska! Hope that works out for you in the future.
DeleteI read one of Terri Blackstock's books several years ago and if I remember correctly, it was a little too scary for me. Maybe I should try again, though. I'm pretty sure you will love Dani's writing too!
I have never visited Alaska, unfortunately. I would love to live there for just a year to experience it. The cold, getting snowed in, the lack of conveniences, the longer and shorter daylight hours. I have been wanting to read this whole series since it's come out and have not had a chance to. I would love to start now !
ReplyDeleteDeanne Cnnamongirl(at)aol(dot)com
Deanne, I don't know about actually living there, but I've always wanted to visit Alaska. We have winter cold spells where I live, but it can still be relatively mild. My husband would say that I always want what I don't have, which is probably why I long for snow. Hope you get to read this series soon, Deanne!
DeleteI have never visited Alaska.. We were set up for an Alaskan Cruise but family emergency came up & we didn't get to go.. I would still love to do that..
ReplyDeleteI have read one of Dani's books & would love to read this one too..
dkstevensneAToutlookD OtCo M
Deanna, I was close to going on an Alaskan cruise once, but decided not to go because my husband was going through a difficult time physically. Still dream of going one day, though! The Alaskan setting was one of my favorite things about this series.
DeleteCarole, thank you for putting together this beautiful compilation of extras! Love the images you chose from the Pinterest boards-- this is just such a neat taste of the storyworld. No need to enter me in the giveaway-- just wanted to pop in and say a hearty "thank you"! ~Amanda
ReplyDeleteAs I've said before, Amanda, the wonderful resources you put together make promotion fun. Once I started looking at Dani's Pinterest board for Sabotaged, I couldn't resist because they make the story come alive even more. Can't wait to see what you work on next, Amanda!
DeleteI do love romantic suspense. I really enjoy Dee Henderson, Terri Blackstock, and Dani Pettrey.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great authors, Meagan! I'd have to say that Dani is my favorite - and that's my honest opinion, not just because I'm promoting her writing. Thanks for visiting, Meagan.
DeleteForgot to leave my email! meaganlwilliford at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteCarole,
ReplyDeleteLOVED the Extras you shared. Thank you SO much! What a fun post :)
Best,
Dani
Thank you for taking the time to comment, Dani! I'm glad you partnered with Amanda, because she provides great resources that make this fun. I really do enjoy your writing - and that's a sincere compliment because I don't read a lot of romantic suspense. I look forward to the next series that God has placed on your heart, Dani.
DeleteI would love to live in Alaska. And, being trapped with Reef doesn't sound half bad!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with both of those thoughts, Melissa! Thank you for visiting - and be sure to leave your e-mail address for the drawing.
DeleteI've visited Alaska three times on cruises. Went kayaking once, helicoptered onto a glacier, and through the fjords on a seaplane (and nearly got sick).
ReplyDeleteA Chesapeake series is quite a switch from Alaska. tlw131 [at] gmail [dot] com
Terri, if it wasn't wrong to envy, I would be very envious! Lol Seriously, I'm glad you got to do all those things. While the views from the seaplane must have been incredible, I'm pretty sure I would have gotten sick, though. Thanks for visiting, Terri.
Delete1 - I don't really think I would like to be in any kind of ice cave, but if I was single and maybe a bit younger, I'd be okay if I was with Reef. :)
ReplyDelete2 - I've read and own the first two books in the series. Can I say that my favorite character IS Alaska? I have never been to Alaska so the books have been my vacation away. I do have a friend who lives there. Maybe a visit is in order. :)
3 - I would love to go to Alaska. We watch a show on HGTV I think it is called Living Alaska. It always makes me want to just up and go!
4 - I am a huge fan of romantic suspense. I have lots of favorite Christian authors. I would hate to put just one here so here's a few: Dani Pettrey, Sandra Orchard, Nancy Mehl and Susan May Warren are just a few of my favorites.
Thanks for all the bonus information! I ate it up!
KellysShining(at)gmail(dot)com
Kelly, I love your thoughts and am glad you enjoyed all the extras! Thank you so much for sharing.
DeleteI especially enjoy books where the setting becomes a major character, and you're right on with that being the case here. While I've never watched Living Alaska, I never miss House Hunters Alaska when it's on. Maybe I should check out Living Alaska! It's always good to see you here, Kelly.
If I had a bucket list, visiting Alaska, and visiting the McKennas would be on the top of my list. Hopefully some day I get to!
ReplyDeleteSame here about visiting Alaska, Marianne! I also think a quality of really great writing is when the characters almost become real to the reader, and that's exactly how I felt about the McKennas.
DeleteThank you for visiting, Marianne - and please leave your e-mail address for the drawing.
Kayden's story was actually the first book I read in this series, Kate, so it's kind of special to me. But I enjoyed the Iditarod race theme and seeing the McKennas together again in Sabotaged.
ReplyDeleteI have only read the first book so far, have all of them but #5. I am waiting to have the rest so I can reread the first and the rest at the same time. I love romantic suspense, some of my favorites are Lynette Eason, Teri Blackstock, Brandilyn Collins, Irene Hannon, Shirley McCoy and now Dani Pettrey. Thanks! tklovenest(at)aol(.)com
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing some of your favorites! I'm not a big fan of suspense, but I do love Dani Pettrey and Irene Hannon. And I'm almost neurotic about reading a series in order, so I hope you're able to read the whole collection soon. Thanks for dropping by!
DeleteI'm so very cold natured, I most likely will never be in a situation where I'd be trapped in a snow cave. I've never been to Alaska but it sounds very interesting and beautiful. I am a romantic suspense (Christian) fan and have many authors whose books I read and enjoy. Most have already been mentioned by others. I'd love to win.
ReplyDeletegodleyv [at]yahoo{dot}com
It's so good to see you here, Vera! I always enjoy your reviews. And although I like cold weather, I'm like you when it comes to the idea of a snow cave. Something would have to be very wrong for me to find myself trapped in one, even with someone adorable like Reef! Best wishes in the drawing, Vera.
DeleteThanks you, Carole. I just now entered for the school's library. Here is hoping one will be the winning entry. We can always dream, can't we.
DeleteI need this book to finish the series! I have been to Alaska and it is beautiful! I want to go back and visit again! Nancycooks4u[at]gmail[dot]com
ReplyDeleteI love this series! I think Piper is my favorite character, although I have loved them all! Honestly I don't even WANT to imagine being stuck in a snow cave, but I'm sure Reef would make it a better experience! susan.stitch(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
ReplyDeleteI was born in Alaska so all my baby pictures are from there irishrose157[at]hotmail[dot]com
ReplyDeleteI have not read this series. I've heard SO many great things about it that I've added it to my series to read list. I would love to visit Alaska. The scenery is so breath taking.
ReplyDeletepsalm103and138[at]gmail[dot]com
My husband and I went to Alaska on our honeymoon in 2010 and we are going back in August with my father-in-law. It's amazing! I love it! :) kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.

ReplyDeleteI think that Alaska is a beautiful area but I am not fond of the cold so don't plan on visiting. I love romantic suspense and have many favorite authors.
ReplyDeleteThereadmaster(at)me(dot)com
I would love to go to Alaska sometime during its warmest months. Would love to see and take photos of all the beauty and wildlife there.

ReplyDeleteI'm entering for Alamance Christian School. We'd love to win this book for our library. We have Submerged and I would love to see us shelve all of Dani's books.
ReplyDeletevgodley [at]alamancechristianschool.org
Visiting Alaska is on my Bucket List. Dani's story sounds exciting. I've been meaning to read one of her books, especially since I met her last year, but I read mostly historical romances. I do enjoy a suspense every month or two. Margaret Daley is an author who's suspense books I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAlaska is my dream. My hubby and I will be married for 25 years in 2019 and I would love to take a cruise there to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteI love this series and cannot wait to read the last book in the series! Dani Pettrey is one of my favorite authors in romantic suspense! Thx for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteEmail- ellihl1@students.fscj.edu
Dani Pettrey is probably one of the best writers in Christian fiction! I have not read any of the books yet but they are definitely on my to-read list. I have always dreamed of going to Alaska...

I have a very good friend who lives in Alaska and she has told me about how beautiful it is there and I have always wanted to go visit it. Love Dani Pettrey's books! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteellisons10@hotmail.com
I've read several in the series, but my first love has to be the first book. The discovery of an amazing author telling an amazing story, and the discovery of the McKenna family!
ReplyDeleteIf I had a choice of which state to visit, Hawaii or Alaska, I would love to visit Alaska. I have heard nothing but great things about this state. I would also love to read this book. padt73[at]hotmail[dot]com
ReplyDeleteNo I have not read any of your books yet but would love too!!!

I dream of going to Alaska. One dream that probably would never come true would be the Alaska cruise done by Charles Stanley each year...just can't afford it, but I can still dream! And I would dream of winning this book - would love it! Read the first two and 3 and 4 are in my TBR stack...but this would lead me to read and finish quickly! jeaniedannheim (at) ymail (dot) com
ReplyDeleteI have always dreamed of going to Alaska! I get the "Alaska" magazine every month, and I drool over it!
