Welcome to the Best Of Books Blog Hop 2013 – hosted by Diane Estrella, an enthusiastic blogger who does a lot to promote other bloggers, as well as books. Today I'm sharing the best books I read during 2013 in the fiction category, and tomorrow will feature the books I most anticipate reading in 2014.
Be sure to check out the links to other bloggers' lists at the bottom of this post.
Of the 107 fiction books I read this year, these are my top picks. I look for an emotionally engaging story with rich characterization, multi-layered plots, and lyrical prose - and that describes each one of these stories. Books are listed in alphabetical order by author's last name, and links to my review are under each cover.

Over 107 books is an awesome quantity of learning and fun! I liked The Letters too and am reading the sequel now.
ReplyDeleteWow.. I think I have found the majority of my reading list for 2014! I want to read them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part in the Blog Hop... I would never have found you otherwise.
Thanks for including The Christmas Quilt in your list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for including The Christmas quilt in your "best of" blog!
ReplyDeleteDiane, I only wish I could read faster!
ReplyDeleteSherryl, I'm not a big suspense fan, so most of these are what I call quality relationship dramas. Let me know what you think if you try any of them.
Vannetta, I found The Christmas Quilt hard to put down and it is well deserving of its spot on my list.
Carole,
ReplyDeleteIt's such an honor to have My Hope is Found on your favorites list. Thank you for being such an encouragement! Thrilled even more so to see so many friends and familiar books here. I have some plans to catch up on those I haven't read yet! Happy New Year!
Joanne, it wasn't just My Hope Is Found - it was the whole series! Like I've said before, they seemed like three parts of one story, so I couldn't break them apart.
ReplyDeleteWOW, CAROLE, THANK YOU, my sweet friend, for including me on this incredibly impressive list -- I am BLESSED, especially with the caliber books you've included, many of which I have read as well!!
ReplyDeleteAnd like Sherryl ... there are a number I think I need to add to my TBR as well!!
Hugs and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Julie
I have read some of these and heard great things about several of the others. Thanks for the great reading suggestions for this coming year! And I am a 100plus books a year reader myself!
ReplyDeleteI have read several of these and have several more on my "to read" list. Great suggestions!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carole, for including That Certain Summer on you list. I'm honored!
ReplyDeleteJulie, it's just plain fun reading your books - with the way you combine raw emotion with strong spiritual themes. I eagerly await your next release!
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I love seeing bloggers' favorites on these "best-of" lists. Thank you for looking at mine.
Irene, suspense isn't my favorite genre - so when I say you write great suspense, that's a compliment! But your contemporary relationship drama is by far my favorite and That Certain Summer was well deserving of a place on my "best of" list. Thank you for stopping by.
Carole, this is a great list. I see several that would be on mine.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Dear Carole! How could I have missed this. LOVE your big list and I'm so honored to be on it! You remain such an encouragement and blessing, always. So thankful you are in my/our lives.
ReplyDeleteBless you!!
